Goodbye Kentucky

The last month before we moved to California was so busy I hardly had time to really think and realize how sad I was. The day before we left as the movers packed up our things I had a complete meltdown. I can't believe how hard it was to leave a place where we had only lived for about 2 years.

It was hard to say goodbye to our home. We have lots of good memories there.

One miracle that happened is that our home sold after only 4 days on the market! We couldn't believe it! We were so glad that it worked out so well! It helped our stress level go down a notch. We feel so blessed. We took it as a sign that we really were suppose to leave and go to California.

A few things I want to remember about our time in Kentucky
  • the amazing rain storms...I love to listen to rain so I loved the rain storms
  • the beautiful lush green and colorful flowers in the spring
  • the breathtaking colors of the fall
  • the horrible hot summers, so hot you can't breath and you sweat like crazy just standing
  • southern hospitality, it is a real thing...the people there are so kind and remember everything about you and really care about you
  • I learned how lucky we are to have the gospel
  • I learned how to share the gospel with others
  • the huge rivers
If you would have told us before we left to Kentucky that we would stay for about two years and when we left we would be sad to go. We would have told you that you were CRAZY!! Turns out Kentucky grew on us! The kind people there really made it feel like home. Now it is time to turn the page and start a new chapter of our lives in California! Goodbye Kentucky! Thanks for an awesome two years!!

I'm so glad I got out to visit and witness the beauty and "southern hospitality" first hand. Kentucky really is a great place.
