California

We got back sunday from a wonderful vacation in California. We had a BLAST!! I have lots to share so be warned this is going to be a really long post. Here is what we did:

FOUR GENERATIONS
First we got to visit my grandmother in Bakersfield California. It was so nice to see her and my Aunt Gayle. This was the first time Apri had met my grandmother, so I was glad we were able to visit her on our way to the beach. We took this picture of the four generations while we were there. I was glad the photo turned out. The other picture is of my aunt, my grandma, and my mother.

CARLSBAD
Next we headed to the Beach!! Each year about half my family gets together and we camp at the Carlsbad State Beach. We had a great time together,as always!! Some of the things we did at the beach include:
1. Played Beach Vollyball. This was fun because we played with this group of young girls who were on some sort of team together and we won!! We were pretty excited and proud of ourselfs!!
2. Built Poop Castles. Don't worry it just looks like poop it isn't real poop. This is one of my favoite things to do because it reminds me of when I was little. I would spend hours building poop castles when I was younger.
3. Morning walks on the beach.
4. Boogie bording...boogie bording...oh and more boogie bording. The waves were awesome this year so I would stay out until I was exausted. We also took a little boat out and rode the waves. I laughed so hard watching Wayne flip over in the boat. The funniest was when my mom out in the boat. She was yelling "LET ME OUT" the entire time as she laughed. She is such a good sport!!
5. Got in a sand fight. Erika(my neice) got sand all over me so we had a nice little war. I think the war ended in a tie?? You be the judge when you see the picture.
6. Apri did a great job of getting sand in and on each and every part of her body. She was the sand monster. I couldn't belive how much sand got in her swimsuit. She had a great time playing in the sand. The loud waves made her nervous so she spent most of her time out of the water.

BEACH PICTURES

SEA WORLD
In the middle of the week to break up the beach days we went to Sea World. We loved it and I was amazed at how much Apri enjoyed it. She loved the Whales!! She talked and talked about them swiming and jumping all day long. It was fun to watch her reactions as she watched the shows. The weather was perfect, it was a nice cloudy day to keep us cool. Wayne and I were impressed we got to see everything while we were there. Of course we were exausted by the end of the day from walking all over the place, but we felt like we got our moneys worth.

INJURIES
Poor Wayne was bummed because on our first day there he fell and hurt his arm really bad. I thought he might of broken his arm so I made him go to the doctor and get it x-rayed. Thank heaven it wasn't broken, but it was a bummer because Wayne's arm was hurting the rest of the trip. The other crazy thing that happend is my brother Brian got stung by a sting ray. It was pretty scary!! We were all glad that there was a lifegaurd on duty this year. He was in alot of pain, and we had to put his foot in really hot water to draw the poison out. He was fine after a few hours but he had alot of swelling pain for a few days. After he got stung it took us all a while to be brave enough to get back in the water. Here are some pictures of Wayne and Brian's injuries.

On the way home we were able to make a few stops and visit my friend Ruth in Mesquite and Wayne's friend Chris in St. George. So it was a full 10 days of fun!! It was a wonderful family vacation!!! We are glad to finally be home and are still trying to get back into the swing of things. It was a fun way to end the summer!!

Swiming Lessons

The last week in July and the first week in August Apri and I took a Mommy and Me swim class together. It was alot of fun!!! (I think I enjoyed it more than she did) I signed up for the lessons because Apri is pretty scared of water. She still hates when the water gets in her face, but she is a little braver than when we started. Her favorite part at swimming lessons was singing songs, and jumping of the side. My favorite part was on our first day I dunked myself under the water to show her it was okay and not to be afraid. When I came up she slowly stroked my cheeks and with a concerned look asked "You OK, You OK mommy?". It was so sweet. My mom was nice enough to come and take these pictures for us on our last day.

A WEEK WITH THE KELLY'S

Samantha and her two boys stayed at our house last week. It was great to have them here!!! Erika was having a blast at EFY all week so we didn't get to see her much. Poor Matt had to stay home all alone.(We missed you Matt!) We had a fun week including a trip to the Zoo and Surf n' Swim. I was bummed I had to work the day they went to the Zoo, but Apri lucked out she still got to go. She had lots of fun with her cousins. She got to pet a opossum and a snake. When I got home from work she was still talking about the train that was her favorite part.

Surf n' Swim was really fun. I hadn't been there for years!! Here is some pictures of all the cousins enjoying some pizza.

I always love spending time with family!!! It was great to spend the week with my sister. She has always been such a great example to me. We have such a great friendship, I am so glad that she is my sister!!! So the moral of the story is if you ever get the chance to spend A WEEK WITH THE KELLY"S, take it!!!!

Jordyn Ann Meeks

A big welcome to the newest member of our family. This is Courtney's(Wayne's Sister)new baby girl. Isn't she priceless?? We were glad that we were able to make a short trip to go see her. We were impressed with Apri she was pretty gentle. She loved her new cousin, she was very fascinated to see and hold a real baby.

CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK TO THE NEW PARENTS!!!
