DID IT!

Well I am caught up again! Sorry I blog in spurts! Seems to be the only way I can get it done! :) Hope you enjoy the update!

Storms

TORNADOES ARE NOT MY FRIEND!!! The last few weeks have been crazy! Storm after storm after storm. Over the last month I think we have had 5 or 6 tornado warnings. Several nights we lay awake listening to the storm rage outside. Usually it is just thunder and rain. The thunder shakes our entire house. Sometimes it is more! We had two storms wake us in the middle of the night that freaked us out!! We just grab our kids and rush for the bathroom and pray for protection!! It is so scary!! I do not like it!!

One of the storms hit our little town pretty hard. It doesn't seem like much compared to what is going on in the surrounding cities.(flooding and devastating tornadoes) It was eye opening for me though!! I have seen things like this several times on TV but it is something else to live it! Thankfully us and our home were protected. Throughout Murray and Hazel there were hundreds of trees down. Some were without power for most of the day. The freaky thing to me is the damage wasn't even caused by a tornado it was caused by 101mph winds. Also the storm didn't even last long. We have had so much rain that the ground is very saturated and all the trees just came down.

Crazy Crazy weather!!! This is just some of what I saw as I drove around town. I am so grateful that we have been protected from the storms! I hope the next place we live is tornado free!!! I also hope that I never see the damage from a tornado this was bad enough for me!! :/

Easter Sunday

We had a good Easter. Apri was so excited to finally get the Tangled movie! We have watched it everyday this week I think. Camden just wanted to eat all the candy! I spoke in Church and Apri spoke in Primary. It was good for me to prepare a talk and take time to reflect and really think about the true meaning of Easter. I am so greatful to know that our savior lives again and that because of him we can live again too! Here are some pictures of our Easter!

We also had a yummy ham dinner with the missionaries and some new members that just moved into our ward Lowell and Montissa. Hope you had a great Easter too!

Coloring Easter Eggs

We had little BBQ Saturday night and then colored our Easter eggs. Camden did a good job making a mess!! It was fun though! Apri thought it was great!! She loves to do crafty little projects like that.

Easter Egg Hunt

A week before Easter we went to a local Easter egg hunt put on by a local business. It was fun but it would have been alot funner if the weather would have been nice!! It was freezing that day! Poor Camden was miserable. Apri didn't mind to much it was worth it to get the eggs for her! Here are some pictures of the fun!!

Camden was not impressed with the Easter Bunny!

Ballet

Because Apri is in Ballet class we decided to go and see the ballet. It is put on by the older group of kids that go to the same studio as her. They did the Hobbit so it was a little different but still good. Apri loved watching it!
I really enjoyed our evening together because we made it a girls night. Before the ballet we went out to dinner just the two of us. It was special to spend some girl time together. I just love my little Apri!! She is growing up so fast I love to watch her personality come out more and more.

The Bakes saved us a seat their oldest daughter Alli was performing in the ballet. She did an awesome job!! I can't wait until Apri is old enough to participate in it too.

During the Ballet there was a tornado warning so they had to stop and we all filed out to get to a safer place in the building. So of course I had to get a photo of us hiding from the storm.

Camping

We had the funnest Camping trip last month at Hillman's Ferry. It is located at LBL just about an hour drive from our house. We went camping with the Walkers. It was an adventure for sure!! Neither of us had been to the campground before so we were hoping it would be nice. Thankfully it was awesome!! It was really family friendly!! We were right next to the bathrooms and the playground and walking distance to the lake.
The interesting part is we went without our husbands!! Yea!! We are awesome! JJ's husband was out of town and Wayne was at his grandpas funeral. It was just JJ with her 3 kids and Prego me and my two kids! We were a little worried about doing it on our own but our husbands lack of confidence in us made us determined not to fail!! We were so proud of ourselves!!
We had a total blast!! The kids played and played all day! The weather was great! It got into the 80's so we even got to go swim in the lake. It was really fun! The kids were filthy and completely worn out by the time we went home. We were also exhausted! Wayne came home and camped with us for one night I was so glad to have his help when we took the tents down.

It was really fun! Something we will definitely do again!!

John Ephraim Larson

John is Wayne's Grandpa. He passed away last month on April 2nd. It is always hard to loose a loved one. He lived a very good long life. He was 96 years old!!

I didn't know him that well but I do know that he was very kind, and very dedicated to the Gospel. He would always give me a hug when he saw me. He was also a very very hard worker. This is a quality that he passed on to his son who in turn passed it on to my husband. Something I am personally very grateful for.

Thankfully Wayne was able to go to Utah for the funeral services. We couldn't all go!! (stinks that we live so far away) It was good for him to be there and see family and say goodbye. Hopefully Wayne will get a chance to get on here and add some of his memories.

He will be missed but we are glad to know he is in a better place.

Spring!

I love spring here! It is the best thing about Kentucky in my opinion. Fall is a close second but I really love the spring. We get a lot of rain but I don't mind it too much. I love to watch it rain. I love that winter ends in February! I don't mind snow but I hate how winter drags out forever in Utah. Anyway I wanted to share these beautiful spring pictures!

AMAZING RIGHT!! I love it...so beautiful!

I wanted to add this cute picture of the kids walking to the car after dance class! The rain had just stoped and the sun was shining and they just looked to cute!! I had to hurry and snap a picture of it!

Circus

In March the Circus came to town. It was alot of fun for the kids. It was a fun show to watch. Camden loved the elephants. He would just kind of sit layed back until the elephants came and he would shoot up and stand on our laps to get a better view. Apri's favorite part was the magic. She was in complete awe every time they did a trick. She truly believed that it was magic.

Us at the circus. We got to sit right next to the Bakes so they took this picture for us.

The elephants

Camden watching the show.

The least entertaining was the lions. The lion they had was so old! I felt bad for it because it didn't want to move. I didn't know that lions hair went grey but I think it does because this lions hair was almost white.

Overall it was really fun and I am glad we took the kids.

The BIG 30!!

Wayne turned 30 this year! I can't believe I am married to such an old fart! He he! 30 isn't even old. Wayne likes to use it as an excuse to get out of things though! I think he secretly can't wait to get old so we can get out of things.

He had a relaxing birthday. He had to work on his birthday. So that evening I made homemade pizza, and chocolate zucchini cake for the celebration. All Wayne wanted to do for his birthday is eat pizza and cake and watch March madness. So that is what we did! He is so easy to please. For his birthday he got another saw. He has loved using it to make me some things.

Apri wrapped his gift up in a blanket for me.

We are so grateful for Wayne. He is an amazing father and husband! I am so lucky that he is all mine!! :)

Time Out!

Yes, I must say that I love time out! Why because it is wonderful, everyone needs a time out at one time or another. I recently experienced my first time out and I can't wait to have another one.

I am referring to time out for women. It is a conference for LDS women. You go and listen to uplifting messages and music for a day and a half. It is amazing!! I went with my friend JJ, and Whitney and Sandi. We had so much fun. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard for so long!! I had a great time but I was shocked at how anxious I was to get home too. I missed my cute little family.

I highly recommend that if you haven't taken a time out for yourself recently do it!! It doesn't have to be a conference or any special occasion just take some time for you it does wonders!!!
