Mammoth Cave
On Labor Day we took a little day trip to Mammoth Cave. Mammoth Cave is the largest underground cave in the world. It was pretty cool. We were so lucky because we got to go with these cute Sisters! Sister Stubbs and Sister Nielson!! It was so good to see them again. They are a hoot! It was their p-day so we all went together.

The cave entrance was not what we expected just a little door.

Once we got in we had to climb down 300 stairs. It was really narrow and steep in some spots. Apri was totally freaked out!! She was crying and wanted to get out! After we said a little prayer and got down the stairs she had fun. They have a formation in the cave called a fairy castle and that helped alot. All of a sudden it was a fun place because fairies lived there. Apparently lobsters live down their too because she pointed out several lobster caves to us. He He!! It was really amazing! I can't believe how big the cave was and we didn't even see half of it. They have a 6 hour tour you can take! We only went on the two hour tour. Camden did good as long as I was holding him so my arms were super sore by the end. I hope we can go again sometime and see some more things. I would really love to go camping there, maybe next year!

Some of the formations in the cave, I have ton's of pictures of the formations but they don't do the cave justice! It looked cooler in person.

Apri and Rachel
Apri and her friend Rachel have been getting together twice a week to play. I am so greatful for this! Apri really loves having someone her age to play with and I love the break. One day a week Rachel comes here and one day a week Apri goes and plays at the Walkers. One time when they were here they asked to paint. I couldn't belive how long they painted. They were painting for about an hour! It was great! Such cute girls!

Nina and the Pinta
We got to see the replicas of the Nina and the Pinta. (as in Columbus' ships) They were down by the lake for a few days and we thought we would go check it out. The Bakes are the ones who told us about it and we all went together. It was kind of neat. The most interesting thing to me was they were tiny! I couldn't believe how small they were. I would never go across the ocean in one of those! Apri had fun she thought it was a pirate ship. Wayne missed out we found out about this last minute and he already had plans to go golfing. I was happy to have something to do while he was playing golf.
Us by the river. It was really windy that day, can you tell?

Having a picnic by the river.

Birthday
Yep...I am 26 now! Yikes..I will be 30 before I know it! I had a really fun Birthday. I am so mad at myself because I forgot the camera. Wayne took the day off of work and spoiled me with a day of fun. When I woke up I had a wonderful breakfast, french toast my favorite!
For gifts I got the new book in the Hunger Game series, Mockingjay and I also got these beautiful flowers and cards from my friends and family.

We went to LBL(Land Between the Lakes) and ate lunch then we explored LBL. They have a nature center and a buffalo and elk herd you can visit. So we checked it out. We never did see any elk. After LBL we went to Olive Garden in Paducah and had their all you can eat pasta. YUMMY!! Then we finished off the day with a wonderful strawberry cake that my friend Janice made for me. It was a really fun day, thanks to Wayne! He did a great job planning a special day for me! I love that guy!
I also got some birthday cookies from the sister missionaries, and a yummy lunch at my friend JJ's house the next day! I am so lucky to have such great friends!

Ballet
Apri started taking Ballet in August and absolutely loves it!! I love to go and watch her every week. Each week she is improving. She is one of the youngest in the class so I was a little worried about putting her in the class. Usually they don't take 3 year olds but they let her join because she turns 4 in a few months. She loves to wear her Ballet clothes she says "I am beautiful mommy" when she has it on. I can't wait to watch her class preform at the end of the year it will be so cute!!
Here are some pictures of her on her first day (some didn't turn out very good)

1st Hair Cut
Camden got his first hair cut about a month ago! Wayne thought it looked like he had a comb-over. It was getting a little straggly! I finally caved and gave him a haircut. It was way shorter than I wanted we ended up just buzzing it off! It was so sad! He does look pretty handsome with his haircut..even if he doesn't look like my little baby anymore! :(

Rain Boots
Playin' in the rain! Another thing that you don't do very often in Utah wear shorts in the rain. It was about 95 degrees this day.....and super humid! It is annoying to go out after it rains here because you think it will be cooled off a bit but it actually feels worse because the humidity spikes. It is fun to play in the puddles though!

Oh, and I love Apri's rain boots! I got a great deal on them when we were in Utah. Rain boots are super expensive here because you need them more often.

Suprise
Pre-school
Apri has two years of preschool ahead of her. She couldn't go to the head start program here she tested to high on the tests they gave her. So I was really happy to hear that she was smart but really bummed to hear that she couldn't go to preschool. She would love it! We could pay to send her to preschool but because they offer the head start program here for free all the other preschools are way to expensive.($18 dollars a day) So I am going to teach her at home. We may fork up the money next year but this year we are just going to keep her home.
Here we are working together on her new workbooks.

It is fun to watch Apri learn she is so smart. We are also teaching her to read. My goal is to teach her to read before she starts kindergarten in two years. Happy Learning!

Mommy in Training
If you ask Apri what she wants to be when she grows up she will almost always say "When I grow up I want to be a mommy" So cute! She already is a little mommy. Her personality screams mommy. She is such a great helper and she will be an awesome mom if we ever let her get married. I am pretty sure we will never feel like anyone is good enough for her! When we go shopping she insists on getting her own cart. She is very serious about grocery shopping. All of her favorite foods go in her cart everything she doesn't really want to buy goes in my cart. She even helps me make a list before we go and marks it off at the store. It has made grocery shopping a little easier because I HATE grocery shopping with a passion!! But Apri loves it and she is so cute it makes it fun for me. She is too funny! I love her and her mommy personality! (Except when she tries to be Camden's mommy then we have a power struggle! :) )

Cliped Tongue
At the end of July Camden had his Tongue clipped. Camden was tongue tied at birth. When the Doctor first told me I kind of thought it was a joke. I didn't realize that being tongue tied was a real thing. I thought it just meant you couldn't spit out what you were trying to say. To be tongue tied means the thing under your tongue is connected to the tip of your tongue instead of the middle of your tongue. Sometimes it isn't a big deal and they can just grow out of it. Come to find out my mom was tongue tied as a baby too. She had never told me before. She had hers clipped when she was a toddler. We took Camden to the oral surgeon and he agreed with the pediatrician that he was severely tongue tied and that he wouldn't even be able to stick his tongue out past his teeth when they came in. He also would probably have had speech problems.
So we had it clipped! I am so glad we did it! I was very nervous to have it done and I was worried we were making the wrong choice. Now after seeing the difference I am sooooo glad we had it done. The thing that shocked me the most was the side to side movement he gained. I noticed that he could eat a little faster. Poor kid could hardly move his tongue at all! His recovery went great. There are not many nerves or a good blood supply under the tongue recovery is pretty easy. He was just a little fussy and was back to his normal self after a day or two.
Waiting for the drugs to kick in.

Saying goodbye..we didn't get to stay in the room. I am glad I think it would have been hard for me to watch. I was a nervous wreck. Poor Camden all dazed from the drugs he has no idea what is coming.

Right after he had his tongue clipped. If you look close you can see white on the tip of his tongue. It looked white like that for a week or so and then it went away.

I am so glad it is done and everything went great! Now he plays with his tongue all the time....I think he was glad to have it done too!

Summer Reading Club
The library here puts on an awesome program for the kids during the summer to encourage them to keep reading. In addition to the reading challenge each week they had some sort of puppet show or concert for the kids to go to. Apri loved it!! It was really fun! I loved it too! We read and read and read....the more we read the more book bucks we earned. At the end of the summer you could use your book bucks to buy toys and or school supplies. Apri earned about 25 book bucks if I remember right.(not bad for a 3 year old) We were so proud of her. She loves reading so this was really fun for her.
Apri went with her friends Claire and Brenya here is a picture of them together

We brought a stack of books like this home at least twice a week

FUN FUN!! I can't wait to do it again next year!

Larsons
To end the trip we went back and spent a few days at the Larson's. We had a great time at their house. Apri had so much fun with Ansley! She can't get enough of Ansley! Those two can go go go all day long and never rest. They are so sweet! We had fun roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Apri spent alot of time outside. I am so lucky to have great in-laws that I love!! We get along great! We can't wait for them to come visit us again in a few weeks!
Look at those blue eyes!! Are they cute babies or what!??

I love this one of Ansley look how stuffed her cheek is! He He! I love smores!

Best Buds!

We ended up leaving Neola a day early because both of my kids got sick! I guess we had played to hard! Poor Apri passed out again so we took another trip to the hospital. It was so stressful to have this happen again and to not have Wayne there with me. They ran some more tests on her but still no real answers to why she passes out. We sent her medical records to a specialist and they seem to think she is fine. It is just the way her body reacts to sickness. She did have a sinus infection so they treated her for that. In the future the specialist recommended that next time it happens we just watch her for a while and tell her to rest and she should be okay. It still worries me but that is part of being a mom! I get to worry! Camden ended up with RSV again so I just had a bunch of sick kids! It was kind of a stinky way to end our vacation! Oh, well....at least the flight home went smoothly!
Thanks to everyone who fed us and took care of us while we were there visiting! We miss you all and hope we will get to come and visit again next year!!

Service
One day we went over and did some yard work for my Grandma Hatch. She loves to garden! She used to have an immaculate yard. Now it is overgrown with weeds. It is hard to watch her grow old. We decided to go over and do a little weeding and trimming. We barley touched the surface but we really made her day. It was fun to work together as a family! I am so glad we took the time to do this, even though we didn't have time to make it look immaculate again! Here are some before and after pictures.
